My current visual interest is to explore relationships of non-representational texture, color, and forms in the two-dimensional world of the flat surface.  Recently, I\u2019ve extended my interest to figures in abstract settings.  I work in a un-structured process; starting with a simple idea and developing it by responding to the unfolding image.  I paint layer upon layer allowing elements of previous layers to peek through creating a sense of mystery of what lies below<\/p>\n

My interest in the visual world is life-long.  As a child, I attended the Cheltenham Art Center after my second-grade teacher encouraged me to seek art lessons.  In my early teens, I taught myself photography, an interest I continue to pursue as a teacher and practitioner.  In the early 2000\u2019s, I rekindled my interest in painting and started studying at various local art schools including the Main Line Art Center, the Woodmere Art Museum and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.  I\u2019ve exhibited my work at numerous Philadelphia area venues including the Philadelphia Sketch Club, The Mt Airy Art Garage, The Center on the Hill in Chestnut Hill, the Staircase Gallery at the Beth Or Synagogue and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine arts.<\/sub><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
